Donna ~ Hart to Heart
I was a level 3 Reiki Master and was only "practicing" Reiki at my home for friends. I also teach school, which even though I had retired three years ago, I stayed connected to teaching by becoming a special needs aide. I had been a Reiki client and student since August 1999 and always felt it had changed my life. My dream in 2008 was to become a practitioner. Helping others has always been in my nature, but becoming a practicing Rekii Master, wow, how do you do that?
Joanna asks the best questions for your spirit to answer, not just the brain tuning in. Thanks to Joanna, I am an associate in The Healing Center, which allows me to see clients in a beautiful, professional setting. I take chances in promoting my practice with educating those around me to the possibility of Reiki benefits. I have met wonderful people.
When Joanna located her new practice, I took her "Clearing Your Path" course and through that, it made sense for me to try to start a practice in a professional setting to see if my belief in the Reiki gift had wings as well as roots. What was nice about this course was that you did it in the comfort of your own home, via telephone conferencing, with others Reiki practitioners who were striving for the same goal. I liked the convenience of this approach because you got to hear what others were dealing with in their own journey. You listen and learn at the same time. You were support and were supported at the same time.
I learned to define self and why Reiki means so much to my personal belief system. I learned that I have a specific type of person who may benefit from my skills. Joanna lays out the steps to take to help me to achieve my goal.
I did not ask for much "Success" the first year in the way of client base. I felt it was more the background work that had to be done. I have a website, attend meetings and shares to increase my skills and confirm my own path. Joanna checks in and continues to support my efforts with "Next step for you might be......" (A gentle baby steps approach for the novice. ) This guidance and direction is most helpful. It makes you feel more professional and when you do see a client, you are more convinced than ever that this is what you were meant to do. Success for me now is making one person smile, feel more relaxed and energized after a session. I like to leave them with a lasting way to bring back the feeling of their visit.
