Every woman needs her own "esteem team"
About Sales...
Contacting people is not pushy and annoying, its communication!
Takes 5 contacts to get a response - tell a different chapter of the story with each contact to get through.
Also, take the approach as being a trusted advisor or consultant, not as a sales person.
No such thing as cold calling anymore. Social media gives us all kinds of info on potential customers/clients.
Selling is helping - you just get paid for it!
Ask for what you want!
"@dailywhip: Hey gorgeous your business called. It wants to make more money. @toryjohnson"
Women own businesses doing "muscle" marketing...
Yum raw rosemary, orange pecans from http://HailMerry.com . Properly soaked then dehydrated to activate the enzymes, too!
Muscle marketing & PR = strategic partnering with businesses, bloggers, user groups, etc... targeting the same customers.
@toryjohnson says approach potential partners briefly and with specific ideas.

On using social media to promote your business...
“@BarbaraAlevras: Before jumping into social media, determine where your customers hang out & start there. @suebdogal
You can also link every image on Pinterest to a website or a blog.
Ooh you can also pin videos from YouTube onto Pinterest.
Name your boards on Pinterest creatively to reflect your brand. Tag so its searchable.
Add a Pinterest button to your website so people can pin your images. Check out Pinwords, too.
Rapportive is a tool that tells you all of someone's social media outlets & lets you click to connect.
Strategically stalking with excellence = creating lists of cool Twitter people you want to know.
Personalize your FB page by speaking in your own voice.
Pin important things at the top of your FB page!
Create highlights and milestones on your FB page timeline that go back to when your biz was founded.
Offer things of value on your FB page through your apps.
Be succinct in your info section on your FB page & include a clickable link to your website.
Spend time on your FB page cover photo, make sure it's consistent with your brand! @cindywmorrison
Engagement marketing tips from Corissa at Constant Contact...
Use the 80/20 approach - share interesting stuff 80% of the time & only sell 20%. That's engagement marketing!
“@BarbaraAlevras: Marketing is not sales. Mktg is building trust in your brand so people will trust & then buy from you.
1 - WOW people. 2 - Invite them to stay in touch. 3 - Engage people, give them valuable content & build a relationship.
People trust comments & reviews from friends & strangers, but they don't trust marketing says Corissa @constantcontact
"@ejyoung67 Corissa w/ @constantcontact is doing a great job of telling a story about engagement marketing. Get your customer involved!"
Women owned companies focusing on branding...
Here's the link for FreshPaper. It keeps produce fresh for 2-4 times longer. http://www.fenugreen.com/
Ooh if you love fresh veggies & fruit as much as I do - you need to check out FreshPaper by @fenugreen
"@BarbaraAlevras What are the 5 words you hope your brand conveys?"
On making mistakes in your business...
"@BarbaraAlevras Mistakes are the "tuition" you pay to learn how to succeed in biz. LOVE that idea @surepayroll"
"@robynmather RT @cphotosolns: Michael Alter @SurePayroll: Focus on what you are passionate about - outsource the rest!"
"@ejyoung67 Final piece of advice from @surepayroll: Leverage technology. You can have the same resources that the big companies do."
Be ruthless about saying no to customers, employees, etc... to stay focused. @SurePayroll
"@lesleyridge Don't be afraid to make mistakes (new ones) and learn from them. It's how you grow."
The one thing that pulls this country out of recessions are the small businesses.
