Live life to the fullest

I was hoping to write an uplifting note to you today, but I have a sad heart and just can't do it. I learned online yesterday that a professional friend of mine passed away a few days ago. She was someone I met back in 2007 - we both started our holistic businesses around the same time that year. I lost track of her after I moved back to the North Shore and become very busy with The Healing Center.

It's been hard to take this in, but the light that has shined through this sadness is that she lived her life to the fullest. Her close friends and family left notes on her memorial page about how she followed her dreams, made them come true, and did so many of the things she wanted to do in her life.

I'd like to remember her by making a point to live my life to the fullest as well, and this seems like a good message for all of us to take into the new year. Our lives can be what we make of them, so ask yourself - is what you are doing truly in alignment with your heart and soul? If it's not, make 2012 the year you do what you came here to do.

I've been thinking a lot lately about New Year's resolutions, intentions, and goals, as I find that the words we use often shape the results in our lives. I am thinking that this year, in 2012, it's time to make some serious decisions about what I want to manifest in my life, rather than simply setting goals or resolutions.

Decisions are powerful and empowering, and they get right down into your core self. A decision will shift your perspective, your choices and your actions. A firm decision will give you the motivation and follow through necessary to accomplish what you set out to do in 2012. I encourage you to make decisions about who you want to be and what you want to do this year so that you can be living life to the fullest, too.

With the new year beginning, it seems an appropriate time to revisit the Six Steps for Success for Creating a Profitable Practice so you can be sure you are in alignment with what you need to do to be successful in 2012. We'll be visiting the Six Steps over the next few weeks, starting with the first one: Make a Decision.

What decisions are you ready to make in 2012?
